Common Questions
Have questions about IV hydration, treatment or how mobile IV therapy works? Here are several common questions and answers about IV hydration. If you would like to know more, don’t hesitate to contact us.
What are the benefits of IV therapy?
With IV hydration sessions, you get a saline bag that is packed with vitamins and minerals that your body needs to keep you in balance. Most people take a multivitamin daily, but some are filled with fillers, and oral vitamins take more time to be absorbed by the body.
IV therapy bypasses the stomach and can give immediate relief in most cases. For clients trying to overcome an illness, it takes a little longer and they see results the next day.
How long does it take to see results after completing an IV therapy session?
The effects of an IV therapy session can be seen in as little as a few minutes or up to the next day. It all depends on the person’s body. If a person is getting IV hydration to overcome an illness, it depends on how ill the person was feeling prior to the IV treatment.
Is there an age restriction on receiving IV therapy?
IV therapy can be done at any age.
For infants and toddlers, Simply IV Therapy has an extra screening process due to their small body and the additional monitoring required. IV sessions for these clients is strictly based on our Medical Director discretion and the supplement information provided.
Our medical director is a Board Certified Pediatrician, which broadens our practicing capabilities. I would say that our pediatric IV and phlebotomy experience paired with our medical director’s specialty uniquely prepares us to handle any pediatric patients that make it through our screening process.
What is the cost of IV therapy?
The cost depends on what you want in your IV drip bag. For a simple saline solution, the price starts at $55 and goes up based on the vitamins added.
Some treatments are as high as $600 per visit – but it’s based on which treatment you choose and the components of that IV bag.
How long does an IV therapy session take?
Most IV therapy sessions last between 30 minutes to an hour. It depends on your body’s absorption rate and the speed of the IV drip.
How often should you receive IV therapy?
Many people get IV therapy sessions on a biweekly basis.
Saline infusions can be done as frequently as twice a week, but other treatments such as the Myer’s Cocktail IV can be done as frequently as every 2 to 4 weeks.
A medical evaluation is performed before each session to determine which treatment is best for you.
Can I receive mobile IV therapy any time?
IV therapy can be done any time our clients are not feeling well or just need an energy boost.
Our business hours are Monday thru Saturday from 7 am – 5 pm but we can do on demand infusions for additional costs.
We do have to let our patients know that we are not your primary care physician so there are some cases that require an ER visit or the advice of your personal medical physician who is more aware of your medical condition(s).
What the best IV treatment option to choose for dehydration?
If you are feeling dehydrated our go-to is the saline IV drip because it gets body back in balance as far as hydration levels and the body’s electrolytes.
Is IV therapy covered by insurance?
In most cases, IV therapy is not covered by insurance, but HSA cards can be used as payment.
Both of these are company specific and depend on factors such as whether the company has filed to accept insurance, the services being rendered, and whether your insurance company deems the service as medically necessary or as a preventive service.
Simply IV Therapy does not accept insurance, but we will gladly accept HSA cards or other forms of payment.
